Kim Rossi & Mary Ann McIntyre

Originally established as Travel Niagara Tours (TNT) by Mary Ann McIntyre, a respected former hotel owner, general manager and operator, the company was built on a deep understanding of what both conference organizers and hotel partners need to succeed.

Today, Mary Ann's daughter, Kim Rossi, is leading the business into its next chapter under Obstacles to Opportunities (OTO), combining the company's longstanding hospitality expertise with her experience in communications, relationship development and event strategy.

As the company's reach continues to expand across Canada, Kim has preserved the personal service, high standards and trusted relationships that have earned decades of referrals and repeat clients.

Act IIPeace of mind

One less thing to keep you up at night. Conference organizers have enough to manage.

Obstacles to Opportunities manages the hotel accommodation process on your behalf. As an extension of your conference team, we help you navigate hotel options, room blocks and attendee needs from the earliest planning stages through to the event itself. You keep confidence and oversight without having to manage every detail.

Act IIIQuality promise

We wouldn't recommend a hotel we wouldn't stay in ourselves.

Choosing a conference hotel requires more than comparing room rates and availability. The quality of the property reflects on the conference itself. Attendees expect accommodations that are clean, comfortable, well maintained and professionally operated. Conference organizers need to feel confident that the hotels they recommend will meet those expectations, along with A+ customer service.

That is why we carefully vet the properties we present. With firsthand experience in hotel ownership and operations, we know what to look for, and what questions to ask.

Before a property is added to our list, we consider:

  • Guest room quality
  • Cleanliness and maintenance
  • Recent renovations and upgrades (soft and hard finishes)
  • Location and accessibility
  • Service standards
  • Amenities
  • Parking and transportation
  • Meeting and gathering spaces
  • The hotel's ability to successfully accommodate conference guests
  • The overall value offered to organizers and attendees
